From subtle changes to valuable insights

Behavioural indicators are measurable actions — how a fish breathes, swims, and positions itself in the water — that shift in predictable ways as conditions change. Because behaviours can be scored without handling, they offer a non-invasive window into fish welfare.

This reference library consists of annotated video and photos collected in varied conditions ranging from controlled research trials to commercial marine net pens, with data and figures drawn from published studies and ongoing research.
